You provide direction and leadership to a staff of approximately 30 staff, demonstrating attention to the finest customer service, food and wine knowledge and the skill of providing a superior dining experience. You are a strong leader with excellent communication and problem solving skills, a keen business sense and knowledge of employment and restaurant standards. You take pride in a job well done and are comfortable interacting with guests regarding any concerns or comments. A minimum of 3 to 5 years fine dining restaurant management experience is preferred. You also would be most suitable with experience working and living in a smaller community.

Your skills include:

  • Management of variable costs: food, material, labor, repairs and maintenance.
  • Continuous identification of opportunities to improve the operations of the restaurant.
  • Training staff to ensure good operating practices and procedures.
  • Preparing and maintaining staff schedules, reviews, training and development.

Our client is seeking a Front Office Manager to oversee Reservations, Guest Services, and Night Audit staff and ensure our guests are receiving the best possible service in every situation. This is a world class luxury resort located on Vancouver Island.

The Front Office Manager is responsible for the actions of all Front Office staff. You create a positive atmosphere for learning and development and ensure the high standards of the resort are followed.

As a “hands on” manager, you lead by example and are a pro-active member of the management team. You develop and achieve the department budget and complete all administrative responsibilities required to maintain the smooth operation of the department.

You create, implement, monitor and continually improve systems designed to organize and control the efficient flow of guests, staff and supplies through the Front Office.
You are the contact person for all guests who may be requiring assistance from a Manager and keep guests and employees of the resort safe.

Resort General Manager – British Columbia

Successful since 1996, this boutique style hotel has a rustic ambience, offers high-end food and beverage, spa service, as well as superior accommodations. Guests and staff enjoy the many outdoor activities including heli-skiing, hiking, golf, and wildlife viewing. The staff work hard and play hard, are friendly and mountain casual, yet explicitly professional and aimed at superior service. We work as a team and yet seek out individual leadership.

This position requires 3-5 years experience in a boutique style hotel or resort environment, a comfort working and living in a small community, great interpersonal skills and a hands-on attitude in assuring guests’ receive professional and warm hospitality. The compensation is not just a great work environment and people! The salary is 40,000 – 45,000 with bonuses and other unique perks.

The General Manager supervises & directs all operational aspects of the property; front desk and housekeeping, food and beverage, retail and massage, as well as the maintenance and repairs department. You balance human resources, guest service, and administrative responsibilities. Report and plan with the owner on revenues/costs, budget plans and growth developments. Ensure quality customer experiences with outstanding dining and accommodations, a customized lodge experience and exceptional quality standards.
